plastic does not break down at all Now that's just wrong. Exposure to sunlight WILL break down plastic (and a whole lot of other materials too).

Fun fact: Know why clear polyethylene film (excepting greenhouse film) breaks down much, much faster than the same mil thickness of black polyethylene film?

'Cause the black poly has carbon black in it.
