Preston's heart beats faster. He sees a lie detector on the table.

Guard: "Your firearm, Cleric"

Preston hesitates, then surrenders his weapon.

Servant: "Sit."

A doctor steps forward. "We'll start with a test question first." He nods to the polygraph tech who flips the machine on. "More of a riddle, actually. What, would you say, is the easiest way to get a gun away from a grammaton cleric...?"

"You ask him for it."

The polygraph needle registers Preton's surprise.

"Thank you, Preston. You've consolodated my power, given me the resistance. Everyone connected to it. Only someone who didn't know they were working for us could have truly done it. Bravo.

The polygraph needle goes wild.

"And now, Preston, I have you as well. Calmly. Coolly. Utterly without incident."

The needle flatlines.

"No.....not without incident."

In other words, you can put a bracelet on me but all it will tell you is that I'm coming for you.
