Zerohedge showed some of the math - approximately 280 people a year get struck by lightning in the US, so it is an approximate of 1 in a million chance for that to happen.

Lotto winning is estimated to be about 1 in 175 million, so it is more like 175 times more likely to get struck by lightning than win the lotto

I'll take my chances for 2 bucks!
