How big would a tool of this sort be? I ask because if we were in this situation, I imagine there would be some sort of technology available to the bad guys to spot such a device.

This is why I mentioned bolas way back in August
A frequency generater is the biggest of all, about the size of an oscilliscope. The linear amp can be any car amplifier with a good amount of power. I beleive these remote control frequencies are well within the amplifier ranges to reproduce. Last I checked any way.
The antenna is about 3" in diameter and about 1 1/2 feet long weighing about 4 lbs.

If you knew the frequency the drone is using you can hook up any remote control unit directly to amplifier and then to the helix and over power the other signal and control it using your signal.
