why not just get a big ass tool box and carry it around

I already do that.
Might as well tell you something about my specialized requirement...
I've been helping some friends lately with closed-circuit security camera installation at their houses, and on several occasions I've found myself either perched on a ladder or up in attics with only one free hand, needing a knife or phillips. I've had my Swisstool multitool with me, but I've found that it (just like most pliar-type tools) is rather difficult to deal with one-handed.
We'll see on Monday how well the two tools I'm giving a test run work out for this.
BTW, the bottle opener, as you might have guessed, is for the after-work beers!
