I think there are some inportant take away messages from the video:

1. If you have to relocate out of a city you are at a huge disadvantage from the start, probably near fatal. Why go through all the trouble of preparing yet putting yourself at a huge disadvantage because of your location? If you're serious about preparing for a TSHTF scrnario, you must relocate to a rural area that is sparsely populated but having a sufficient number of like-minded neighbors.
2. No matter how prepared you think you are, it is never enough.

I just came back from a shopping trip and picked up a over one dozen cases of canned food, 12 dozen bottled waters, 30 pints of motor oil (for care and generators) and miscellaneous items to add to my collection. Mind you I have a 17 kW propane-powered generator, a 5 kW gas powered backup generator, a 500 gallon underground propane tank, a deep well/well pump and plenty of gasoline that I rotate. Backup in depth is the key as one thing or another may fail. I keep several cords of seasoned wood on the ready and I live on 10 acres of woods. More importantly, I am surrounded by likeminded neighbors who are mostly hunters and farmers and armed to the teeth.

Several day ago, I instigated a discussion with four church elders over dinner. I told them that the church needs to establish a food bank post haste and that I would be happy to donate seed money towards such. I told them that we need to begin comminity wide regular meetings to establish lines of communication (i.e. shortwave radio) and a defensive perimeter with sharing of arms, ammo and manpower. The elders were most receptive and endorsed these suggestions. We are having a first meeting next week. Such a conversation was unthinkable a couple of years ago. In my neck of the woods, there has been a sea change in folk's perspective on the future vis-a-vis security and self-sufficiency. There is a growing consensus that the time has come to begin preparing for the unthinkable.
