As part of its commitment to the Gulf Coast, BP in 2010 provided a total of $87 million in block grants to the states. In addition, BP has committed a total of $92 million over a three year period for the states to use to promote tourism, an essential part of the Gulf Coast economy.
$179 Million in PR BS ... vs. the $179 Billion (or is it $1790 Billion - or more ?) in damages done by BP.

why don't they just say, "i'm really REALLY sorry" - that should cover it.

on some planets - more sane planets - the BP execs & subcontractor managers responsible for the negligence would be tried & executed and/or utilized for TP (Thermal Depolymerization) - where their flesh is used to make oil.

i think they need to re-try BP - and let the citizens of the Gulf Coast who were hurt by oil & Corexit sit on the Jury.
