#1 According to U.S. Representative Betty Sutton, America has lost an average of15 manufacturing facilities a day over the last 10 years.

#2 Sadly, it looks like this trend is picking up momentum. During 2010, an average of 23 manufacturing facilities a day closed down in the United States.

#3 Since 2001, the U.S. has lost a total of more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities. I had a boss- the owner of the company, from 2003-2006... that always had all the answers. I told him my concern about the loss of manufacturing jobs and he flat out denied it. We sold to the OEMs- manufacturing our product into theirs. My boss insisted that only the low-paying junk jobs went away. I left the company- THANK GOD! for a much better job.

I went back to visit the old company 2 years after I left. They laid off half the company... probably worse now.

I watched factories close up and ship their operations to China. It was no frickin surprise to me in the 1990s. I saw the trend... and I know where that is leading.
