Suddenly, a thought crossed my mind.

Do you suppose the reason Obama was selected POTUS was as a means to win the hearts and minds of Africa?
Because our Prez is probably really popular way down in da dark continent, maybe more popular than them damn Chinese
with all their damn money.

Africa has a lot of natural resources the USA hasn't gained full control over yet.

My view was that an African-descent POTUS would easily be able to go in and set up sweetheart deals for US companies in a way that a white POTUS would not be able to do... but I don't see much happening in that direction, so maybe I was wrong.
