I would honestly do the same thing in your situation. There's not many places that are fenced in around us.. tennis courts, fields etc. One's that are, are locked. But now we have a fenced in yard so we don't have that worry.

We recently started going to low key undeveloped industrial parks (you could also go when buisnesses are closed), wrapping the dog's 30ft leads around our waste and just walking. Of course you could do a longer lead and play fetch etc.
The 30 foot lead is a good idea and may open options up a bit. I am always following him around or having him chase me to make sure he gets enough excersize anyway so attatchig him to myself makes sense. How do you all deal with the dog getting tangled up in the lead? I always have to stop atleast twice a walk to get my 10ft leash untangled from his feet or legs and that while we're just walking down the block lol I can only imagine if he was chasing me or a ball or something.
