I don't think it's silly to wonder how his feet must feel. I understand human and dogs have different feet but I'm sure if the cement is hot, it must be hot on their feet.
I don't think that is silly at all. The dog potty area we are "Supposed" to use is across the parking lot (which is a hot asphalt blacktop). When my husband has had to take the dog out during the hottest parts of the day. I've seen him pick her up and carry her across. (She isn't real heavy but she sure ain't light). He said when its hot enough that you can actually smell the asphalt you know its hot. He also said he could feel the heat coming off of it through the soles of his flip flops, so there was no way he was going to make her walk on that.
