I'm a FIRM believer in "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar" type person. Not everyone thinks this way, but I think you could have explained to her why you feel the way you do, and gotten the point across and educated her where she would have "listened" to it more, if you had gone about it a little "kinder". Only time will tell if she listened to one word you said, but as old as I am, and with two grown kids to remind me, people have a tendency to tune you out once you start yelling.
