My dog will bark and with a very nasty tone if you approach my house and he does not know you. It does look intimidating to someone that does not know the dog. But of course if you approach him and pet him he will stop and quickly become your best friend. I am sure if he could talk he would then lead you to all the valuables in the hopes you will give him a treat or take him for a ride.

It isn't the pit bull at my house you need to worry about. It's the owner with his 12 gauge that will be the biggest problem. The dog is merely a warning alarm and a slight deterrent. He won't hurt anybody but he looks like he can and if you don't know him, you would have to have some balls to gamble on whether or not he is friendly.

Now if someone were to get aggressive with or really frighten a member of my family, I would imagine the dog most likely will become a problem for them.
We had a dog like that except if you were afraid of him he'd play on it and scare the crap out of you until we came out, it was hilarious watching people sometimes lol.

Want a good guard dog get a Plott Hound, we have one and judging by her howl you can tell what kind of person she is alerting us about. She doesn't really bark she howls and its a good deep aggressive tone so it stardolls people. She's not aggressive but she certainly doesn't show she isn't.
