Mine bark at EVERYTHING. Bella( shes a year and a half) was abused as a pup before we took her in so if she hears a leaf in the back yard she goes nuts, or she will see someone walking or a car driving by our house and she'll growl(not in an attack way, just a warning) and go to the middle of the driveway and watch them until they're out of site. Which in return is teaching my 6 month old (who we got at 6 weeks) to do the same. Believe me, you are LUCKY!!! I cannot break either of them as to when its good to bark, when its not necessary, and when enough is enough... especially when having guests over..it'll take her a good 15 minutes to get out of "protective" mode. If someone actually did break in...she would more then likely run away and hide.
