Whew, your vet sure knows how to run up a bill! I'm surprised they didn't realize it was KC before doing all of that.

Vaccinated dogs can pick it up. The vaccine is really only good for I think 7-10 days after they receive it. I honestly don't even vaccinate for it anymore, unless I know my dogs will be somewhere they might pick it up.

What are they treating it with? Usually KC clears up on its own and requires no treatment (it's a virus). The only time I've treated one for it was one of my foster pups; his got really bad and he came down with pneumonia. Cough suppressants can be helpful though.

I'm sure he'll be okay. All of mine (except Sako) have had it before and come through just fine.
