Then you need to find a playmate the same size as your dog. They are rough. You can't really change that. Some will tell you to stop the play when it starts to get too rough, and your dog will learn to control himself because he wants to play... but eh, why bother? It takes a long time, and play should be FUN not overly full of commands and rules to follow.
