Some of you have spent a lot of thought on your dog's name, and it's not anywhere in their registered name... Is this pretty common?
While most of my dogs are not registered or the ones that are, I didn't get their papers so don't know what it was, the ones that are registered, were named before I got them and I don't like there names!

But I've seen it go either way. Sometimes they have part of their name in the registered name, or something completely different. Sometimes breeders pick registered name or require a suffix or prefix to the name and what you want to call the dog doesn't fit.

I have retired racing Greyhounds and they have some pretty wonky registered names.

My current two, Ronon is registered as Gil's Concho (Gil is the prefix given to dogs owned by Steve Gilster).

Rebel's registered name is Bob's Dose. The rescue was calling him Bob, but I just don't like that name.

Some have really cool registered names like Drinktillshessexy or Caymen Went. Or my possible new foster Rachel McAdams after the celebrity (entire litter was given celebrity names).
