Yes, I found it interesting as well CHJ. I had heard the rumor for many years but never found a detailed written account of it until a few years ago.

Of course we must remember not all dog here are ticked. For example, mater is a white dog who has black skin pigment that just happens to show through under his white fur. True ticked dogs are like the one the OP posted.

EDIT: I wanted to add, you are right CHJ, not all ticked dogs may have the tainted blood in them. But I did search just for SNG & found one of the most famous ticked dogs who ever lived, Busenbark's CH. Rattler had a lot of Williams blood in his background!

But on the other hand I checked out another well known ticked dog, Lilly's Master Yoda & didn't see any Williams blood. But the ped did have a lot of unknowns, so it may or may not be there.

Either way they're beautiful dogs & I guess the only way to know for sure is to know your pedigree.
