A friend Photoshopped my white bitch's ears, and they looked pretty neat. I think it's more about head shape.

That being said... Cropping is a personal decision, in my book. It's YOUR dog. YOU will be the one living with the decision. I would do all your research - There have been some recent horror stories about crops gone wrong, and some stories about flawless crops.

I, personally, don't think I'll ever get a dog cropped because I don't think the ears would ever be "just right" for me.. I'm too picky
