3 of 4 dogs here are not fans of the bath and only get bathed when they are dirty. About once every 2-3 months. They don't smell like wet dog unless they were out in the rain, so that kind of makes me wonder if there is any bacteria or fungus or something on your dogs skin. Other than that, could just be a sensitive nose I actually like to cuddle my dogs and bury my face in their fur. I can tell the dogs apart blindfolded just by their scent and I don't find the regular, natural, doggy smell offensive at all.

BUT, I do not like when things around the house start to smell like dog. I bleach the basement family room floors, use vinegar and water on the upstairs floors (bird can't be around bleach fumes) and clean my furniture with a Little Green Clean Machine with pet odor remover cleaner and some vinegar in it. I also wash the crate blankets at least once a week. Oh, and I have to wash the bathroom rug every few days because the dogs lay on it so much.
