They are pretty common here in the south. I see them pretty often, I just have never asked a lot of questions.

I looked up their common health problems and the main one is hip dysplasia, and nothing else is really too common. From what I gathered, they are a relatively healthy breed. The ones I've met have been similar to bully breeds in the "I think every person is my long lost best friend" which I really love. I don't like dogs that are aloof. And they're a perfect size for me.

I probably wouldn't buy from a breeder. There are plenty in rescues down here. A bunch of people probably just got one because they are pretty and friendly and forget that working dogs want to work. So health testing would be hit or miss.
