There's a woman in my neighborhood with two absolute maniac jack russell terriers who flip out at almost every dog they see and REALLY have it out for Amy. Amy is usually pretty good about ignoring other dogs across the street, unless they get aggressive to her, but her reaction to these two dogs is terrible. She'll give a very high pitched anxious bark, scramble toward them, jump, lunge, etc. The hair on her back stands up and it takes several minutes for her to calm down after they're gone.

The JRTs' owner just screams at them when they start going crazy at Amy. She just stops and screams "STOP IT!!! I SAID STOP IT!" which clearly doesn't help. It's not just Amy they bark at but she doesn't handle it well. I can almost always control her reaction to other dogs, but not these two because they're so out of control.

To make it worse the woman has taken to shouting at me "you need to hide behind a car when we pass" which kind of flabbergasts me because it's HER dogs that start the mess every time.

And of course they're on flexi leashes too.

ARgh.
