Default Vigilante Justice?
This might turn into a debate, so if it needs to be moved that's cool.

I was watching Animal Cops: Detroit this morning because I am bored. There was a pretty screwed story I thought I'd post and get your thoughts on.

The MHS gets a call about a dog beaten to death. It appears to be a Pit Bull mix with very strong bully features. Apparently, according to the owner, the dog had gotten loose and bitten someone. AC placed the dog in quarantine and had it given a rabies shot before releasing it back to the owner. Less than 1 month later, it bit another person while loose. The owner was awaiting a court date because she had been ticketed for both incidents.

The dog got loose yet again and bit a 17 year old girl. The victims GF and a couple other neighbors went down there and literally beat the dog to death 3 hours later with a car jack while the girl and her mother were at the hospital.

Of course, on the one hand I think vigilante justice is a bad thing to promote. On the other hand, 3 bites? Really? I can't say I blame them. I might have gone down and shot or sliced the throat of that dog myself if it had been one of my kids.

The main perpetrator of the beating was charged with a felony animal cruelty the ACO said would be plead down because of circumstances and would likely end up with fines and probation for 2 years.
