If there is a person in the house that's not living there, my dogs will act like they're never fed and so neglected. They end up snaking extra food/treats out of guests as well as plenty of love and attention. My dogs are master-actors.

With my mother and I, they always act like they're hungry. If you open the pantry (where the dog food is stored) they'll have their heads in there with yours trying to get into the food. They'll eat until they can't move and then eat a bit more just for good measure if you let them.

I've owned a few different breeds and found this to be true of all of them. At one point, I know one of my Goldens was fed breakfast 3 times one morning. I fed her before I left for school. My brother did the same. And my mom, thinking none of the kids were taking care of her, also fed her.. Of course, she was ACTING like she wasn't getting a meal. They think they can get more food if they act like they haven't been fed.

Silly dogs, but we love them anyway.
