I have no hesitations about kicking a dog before it gets to my dog. My dogs are counting on me to keep them safe, and I don't think it's fair that they be pestered by other dogs on our walks. I NEVER let another dog get within grabbing reach. You can kick at the dog, or a lot of times - especially with little dogs - if you yell at them and start walking towards them, they'll run off.
