Thanks all...We were kind of stuck with traffic on the street...if it happens again which I'm sure it will I will yell and give a swift kick if need be...always seems to be the wee little dogs that cause more problems!

I've yet to encounter a little dog that wasn't scared off by yelling. The smallest dog I've had to kick away was a hunting spaniel (field spaniel/brittany mix about 35 pounds)... and really, he just seemed more like he had no manners. Good luck!
