We took a trip to SC this year for vacation to visit family and took in tow my two bullies, son, trailer and M/C. My in-laws were just blown away by the behavior of our two dogs and could not get over the fact how well behaved they were. My uncle (who was recently attacked by a "pit bull" and showed me the pictures of his arm where he got bit twice) and my aunt were not exactly liking the idea of our dogs. They had a large family get together up at their lake house and since we couldn't leave the dogs at my in-laws all that time, we took them. We crated them downstairs were everyone was eating... My uncle asked me were my dogs were... right over there I told him. They were very well behaved he noted. So after lunch we were all hanging out, some fishing and everyone was getting the wave runner and boat ready to play on the lake. My uncle was riding his golf cart around (he has a bad knee and is getting up there in age). I had my dogs out leashed and went over. My girl Mercy jumped right up in the cart with him, gave him a lick, and sat down. He was like what's her deal? She wants a ride is all. The little girl got her ride, and between my dad, uncle, and aunt she was getting all kinds of loving. These are anti pit bull people mind you. Then later after all the boat frolicking (which was a blast), my male was getting some ball time after our dinner and since it was cooler. He played and played. Then had to visit all our family and say hello. Everyone loved them both and were blown away with how well behaved and friendly they were. So with that, these two ambassadors left a different impression on about 20 people of how a pit bull (type - as mine are really am bullies) can actually be, vice the one that attacked my uncle and how they are represented on the news.

My uncle told me the story on his attack. He was working at a ladies house, and was by the front door asking her to turn her water on (plumbing work). She opened door wider to hear him, and the dog bolted out and bit him just below the shoulder in the tricep area. Started shaking him and lost grip and then went to his forearm and got him before the lady got her dog. He said he just stood there and did nothing and waited for her to get control of the dog, but if not for the railing on the porch, the dog would possibly have gotten his head/neck area as that is what he was going for. He called the police and paramedics once the women got the dog off him. She never offered to help with the medical, or followed up to see how he was. He never pressed charges, nor considered suing, which I probably would have done both. Plus I would have been beating the shit out of the dog if it was on me and probably would have killed it myself with a .38 hollow point, then called the police, but he didn't have a pistol on him.
