For those of you who bring your dogs to dogparks
Just another story about how time can change everything. Irie used to LOVE other dogs, big, small, or otherwise. I got her at about a year and a half. She had doggie friends (always other bully breeds that were owned by friends). In the past year she wants to play less and less with them until I just stopped setting up play dates.
Two weeks ago I brought her on a hike in the woods. On leash Irie will never go after another dog although I keep her from interacting with them aside from in passing. When I hike with her she has a leash on just incase we come up to another dog. Well we did.
I really didnt expect to see a dog considering we crossed over a dam onto a random hill. There was a female mutt of some sort and Irie just immediately started bullying the dog- growling and nipping her armpits. I pulled Irie away within 2 seconds because I never let her out of my site, but it is something to think about for those members who think their dog will never hurt another dog. I dont THINK Irie would ever actually go after another dog, just bully unless they go after her, but I would never LET her have the chance.
