The Irish thing is a whole debate in itself. Basically from a laymans viewpoint, anything which is slightly taller than kc standard tends to get labelled as "Irish". A non biased viewer may say they are simply out of standard staffords, tall staffords, working staffords... the list of names goes on and on. Knowing how typical they are in the UK these days (as common as rare blue dogs) the likelihood of it being a staffy or staffy cross is pretty high.
