I was also told by our insurance company that putting up a Beware of Dog sign, in the event something happens, can be used against you in court because it can be seen as admitting your dog is dangerous. They also said that not putting up a sign could leave you open to a lawsuit if someone comes into your yard and gets bit. The happy solution is to post No Trespassing and/or Dog on Property signs and secure your yard so that meter readers and such cannot get it unless you let them in.
