it seems that there is an underlying misunderstanding of a right....
dogs are property... and my property is my right, it is not a privilige...
but with any right comes responsibility... exercising your rights does not eliminate the results of not handling your responsibility.....
no one has the authority to tell me I can or can not have a dog...but I must understand that if I do not handle my dog correctly, I can pay the penalty for it.....rights do not mean no punishment for exercising them incorrectly..
firearms are my right, but I can be put to death if I mis-use them....
Good post obed, now with that being cleared up what about a having a dog that requires a license? Although many teenagers would disagree driving is a right, it is a privilege and you have to pass a test to receive a license to drive because the consequences of your actions from driving could heavy effect others. Not to play devil's advocate but cars are your property although driving is a privilege. So if a license is required to own a dog then is it still a right? And I'm not talking about a $25 dollar city license, just something to the effect of passing a test to become a owner. (Just picking some brains)
