Indie was playing with a pit mix pup her size, and they were doing quite well. Indie has always been one to grab onto the neck skin of other dogs. Well, she kept doing it to this pup, and the pup kept coming back for more, and they were really enjoying themselves. The owners of the pit pup were becoming noticeably nervous about it, so I tried to calm them by telling them that that tends to be how bulldogs play. Well, they kept trying to get their pup to come with them, and stop playing with indie, but the pup wouldn't, so they wound up asking me to hold onto my pup, while they left. What a bummer... They were having so much fun.
But some people don't understand how these dogs (and dogs of some other breeds) play, and others are completely ignorant to when enough's enough.
I know in danorth's vid, I would have corrected right around the vocalization, because that spat had the potential to escalate. I wouldn't have separated, just said "ah, ah, ah!" (not picking on you, danorth! Just giving an example of how I interpret play)
