I always have to laugh at Southern's who can't handle the cold :P

The other night it was -7 out with the wind chill. I'm sure we've gotten to at least -10 during the night. -30 is not unheard of here in Michigan, especially with the wind.

As for your doggy, they'll be okay. Dogs can adapt easily, I don't see much issues.
