I've boarded Ruby once - and she lost 1/4 of her fur ans about 5 lbs!!! We've lucked out so far in having a neighbor/friend who can stay here with Ruby - but she has freakout episodes from time to time and I worry that will happen while she has care of Ruby. Otherwise, we are screwed - don't know anyone. We do have a newish friend and her hubby down the street that have offered and in a pinch, I'd have htem pop in to check on Ruby like a pet sitter. However, I am going to TG out of town with my mom alone this year and DH will stay home with the Ruby....... I really wish we had a better network of friends to dogsit as needed, which isn't frequent.
