As some of you might remember, my brother and his family have been going through a hard time. They lost their home, moved in with our sister, had to move out of there and into his fiance's parents house where they couldn't keep the dogs inside and then he came to stay with me to look for work and a rental out here in a much more populated area. He has been here a month and been seperated from his fiance,the boys and his dogs. Its been hard to find somewhere that he could afford, in a decent neighborhood and that was willing to rent to a guy with a new job and 2 Pit Bulls.

3 weeks ago he got a job as a mover. He was moving a man out of his rental home of 25 years. My brother mentioned he was looking for a place and asked for the landlords phone number.

The landlord is a lovely woman who called back and is willing to rent a 3 bedroom home in a decent area to his family for $450 month plus utilities!!! This price is very, very low for the area, but she said thats what she was charging the other tenant and she doesn't see a need to raise the rent. She has no problems with the dogs, either!

We went to meet her and talk about the house. We ended up talking dogs for a while. Apparently, Landlady has a neighbor who owns an aging APBT and she sees him daily on walks when she goes out with her toy breed. The APBT is well behaved and very friendly even though he is very old and hasn't got a lot of energy left to play. Because of this positive experience with the breed she has no problem with my brothers 2 dogs.

So, baby brother will be signing his lease today and moving out over the week after work.

Isn't it amazing how a person and their dog can influence what happens in a strangers life? Without the neighbor guy and his APBT the landlady might not have thought the breed ok to live in her rental home. But because of this pair and their great impression she is willing to let my brother rent her house and keep his dogs!
