Yup, I was walking Rocco and explaining to a skittish non-dog-person neighbor who stopped to talk how he's very friendly and gentle and loves everyone...when he jumped up and grabbed my hand with his mouth. The neighbor gasped and looked terrified, I said, he's inviting me to play...he's still a pup and is mouthy, but, he grabbed my very softly...neighbor hurried away. Maybe another vicious dog turns on owner story circulating as a result.
LMFAO!!!

cupcake has done the same. She's still a puppy.
we're trying to teach her that greeting us is not with her mouth. She grabs my arm or my shirt, hand...totally wonkers, excited.
Thankfully though, it's been in our home and she doesn't greet strangers this way, or anyone she knows outside of me and my husband that want to pet her. She'll lay her head low and roll over for everyone else...strangers she barks at and growls at raises her hackles...so I don't take her to the gas station because she'll bark at everyone else while I pump gas, slobbering all over my car windows.

haha....good one!
