Default The strangest thing
Ike and Rita are wierd. I love them because of their weirdness, but some things really make me go "Hmmmm".

My latest is Ike the Potty Alarm. Ike was purchased from a breeder at 10 weeks old. I used the tether method for potty training and he learned real fast that he was supposed to let me know when he has to go out.

Rita was my brothers dog and I didn't get her til she was over a year old. She does not let you know she has to go and if you don't see her acting strange and take her out right away then you miss it. She always acts strange so its hard to tell.

Owen is just 10 weeks old and on tether. He will sometimes whine to let me know he needs to go out, but most of the time its guesswork.

Enter Ike and his strange habit. Ike will actually bark when the other dogs have to go potty even if he doesn't have to go. He started doing it for Rita about 2 weeks after we got her and now he does it for Owen. If Ike barks his "outside" bark and we don't listen and take them all out I can guarantee you I am 2 minutes away from needing to clean up piddle.

The things is I can't figure out how he knows when the others have to go or why he cares to notify me.

My husband thinks its because he can somehow smell their full bladders and he lets me know because he doesn't want them pottying in the house. I am not so sure I buy that theory.

Anyone have any ideas or have dogs that also do this?
