If the dog shows signs of aggression than I would say let the kill shelter have him. If it is just a perfectly nice dog that needs training to make him a desirable pet then I say try to find him a home if you can.

I highly doubt the owners who haven't taken him to the vet or gotten him fixed are likely to do it now that he is on his way out the door, so I think the best bet would be to look for a reputable rescue with bully breed experience and have them take him in, give him his vetting and a little training before he gets adopted out to a permanent home.
