Like I said before,...do some homework, don't just assume because every place isn't the same as the next. Either check with housing in person yourself or go to your post website under housing and see what the Regs are. I just googled Military Bans Pits and got quite a bit of info. As of Feb or Mar or '09 there was a military wide ban. I looked up Ft. Carson where I use to be and under housing Regs it just says;

Breeds: Fort Carson Chain of Command reserves the right to restrict certain breeds from being housed on Fort Carson.

U.S. Army Signed Pet Policy for Privatized Housing - Jan 09

But there's also a Grandfather clause in effect, if you had the dog before the ban you maybe exempt. But if you PCS it may or may not hold up.
