In 1970 American Bulldog was first registered as American Pit Bulldog with the NKC, but it was later renamed American bulldog to avoid confusion with the American Pit Bull Terrier. My point is.. just through "registery or papers" like a registered UKC APBT is not your typical gamebreed but it's still listed as APBT. You can say papers are hung or whatever.. it's been recognized so it have the right to be called one but under a different sub-type when classified.
just because a registry calls it something doesnt make it that though.
