I prefer the company of dogs to that of most people. It take much, much longer for a dog to piss me off to the point that many people can manage in the first few minutes of listening to them.

I have always believed that if your animals become a point of contention between you and your significant other then you chose the wrong person to be with.

My belief is that it is the differences between two people in a relationship that make things interesting, but it is the things they have in common that make it work. Opposites attract to me does not mean finding someone who is a complete 180 of who you are, to me that is a formula for disaster. If their views on damn near EVERYTHING are so drastically different from yours about all I would expect is lots of arguments. Apparently some people like that and think that is what a relationship is.
