Ike I got from a breeder in Ypsilanti. I had a dog that was HA and had to be euthanized. We were looking at rescues and shelters, but the local shelters didn't have any dogs that struck my fancy and the rescues were freaking crazy to deal with. After 3 months or so my husband and I were driving and I mentioned I heard an AB breeder had a litter and they were being offered for about the same price rescues charge. The hubby said to call him and I did first thing the next morning. Spent an hour on the phone and then took the kids out there with me to meet the parents and the pups. We picked Ike and the rest is history. Adore him, he's just everything I hoped for when I met his parents

Rita was named Princess and belonged to my brother. He got her from a breeder who had a litter the mother was killing at 3 weeks old and he had to get them out fast since he was a shitty BYB and wasn't prepared to hand feed the pups while weaning them. My brothers fiancee wanted her and fed her til she could be weaned.

They had her for a bit and loved her, but she was plagued by ear infection that they didn't have the money to treat, so they started trying to find her a home at about 6- 8 months old. My husband kept saying "no" and "Hellz no!" When she was 1.5 years old my brother had to move and was going to have to take her and another dog of his to the pound because he couldn't find anyone to take them and he had lost his home and was forced to move and rent. ( believe me, he tried and he was out of time for the move) He would only be able to take 2 of his 4 dogs with him and he chose Sid and Trinity. I casually mentioned this to the hubby, fully expecting a negative response, but he said ok. We took Princess and renamed her Rita and a friend took the other dog who is now named Petey. My "free dog" has cost a pretty penny in vet bills, but she is so awesome she's worth it.
