I am new to the board. We had a pit mix from the rescue for 11 years and lost her to kidney failure last year (a dog of a lifetime). I wanted another dog and we agreed it would be another rescue dog. After numerous trips to the humane socitities in the area, my husband suggested we look for a puppy (thinking it would buy him some more time as he was not quite ready for another dog). Needless to say that was Sunday and by Monday evening we had Roxi!!
