DH had Rosie before I met him. As a young puppy, she has been attacked or used for bait and left outside a vet clinic. The vet clinic had posted a notice on a website saying the needed someone to foster her or she's be PTS. DH agreed to foster her....that was 5 years ago. He said within 5 minutes of her being in his truck he had failed as a foster parent. Complete with drain tubes & stitches all over, her tail couldn't stop wagging, and she couldn't stop smiling...and she is still wagging & smiling today. Only she has become 'my' dog. She still loves DH, but I'm her person.

We got Nick about 1 1/2 years ago. We were kind of talking about getting another dog, kind of looking but not real serious.
I saw an ad on CL saying someone had a 'pit bull' that needed a new home. I showed DH the pics and he said to email them. Turned out, the ad was posted by a vet tech from a local clinic. Someone had brought Nick in a few months prior because they were leaving the country. He had gotten sick while at the clinic, also gotten wormed, neutered, etc.
Someone was going to adopt him, paid all his medical bills, etc, then backed out. They were getting desperate to find him a home.
DH took Rosie to the clinic to see if they'd get along, and the rest is history. At first, Nick was too weak from being sick to care at all about Rosie. But the time he's gained his strength back, they were fast friends.

When we first got him in Oct 2008

He was too weak to play tug, so Rosie drug him around the house.

He pretty much slept for 2 solid weeks

Now the two of them are best friend and play all the time
