I have to agree with Lee. Just from all the cons that you have come up with, the APBT is not the dog for you. Maybe an AST or an EB would be more along your lines...

AST as in American Staffordshire Terrier. I was always told that the AST and APBT were basically the same dog except one is registered by AKC and one is registered by UKC
