Oh I know.. in the 3 years we have had tink - Ive been to the dog park twice. and both times, they were dead when I got there - and we left not long after ppl started showing up.. we only stayed so long today because they were getting along so great.. had a single one of them started acting out or even playing rough - Id have left that moment.. They never once left my sight and the only ones that really stayed more than 10 minutes was the great dane and lab and both owners were good with them.. they were both well behaved. I dont think they ever even jumped on each other - it was strickly running and swimming.

we will only go tomorrow if its dead.. if its busy (which I doubt), we will just go to an empty field.

I would never put my dogs or someone elses dogs at risk. I know my dogs body language very well and had there been more dogs, we would have left.. ( we were going to leave when there were 6 dogs there, but the others started rounding things up pretty fast)..

That's a great analogy! For the love of the bullies, please do not take them to dog parks! All it takes is one incident for a community to be pushing for BSL
I dont mean to sound rude, but I am not some newbie that just got her first pitbull. I am extremely careful with my dogs - and had you been there - you would know that. the 2 hours we were there - I was probably told 10 times to lighten up and let them run free.. but no, I am way over protective.. I was having them return very often to make sure they were obeying and listening to my command.. and 3/4 of the time I was running with them. Dog parks can be dangerous - but it can also be a fun, safe place to play.. its the same if you go to the beach - anything can happen and there can be 10 other dogs there.. All I can do is make sure mine are obeying and away from danger.. which I do! Like I said, had there been a lot of dogs, Id have left.. had I felt I could not control the situation, I'd have left.

now with that said... your advice has been taken... but I assure you - my dogs are safe and will not end up the headlines in the paper!
