I think I spelled it wrong... CURR right? A dog that quits? You mean quit following man? Not game (with what)? A dog with severe issues? Like a wild untamable animal? Badly bred? screws lose? insane? feral?
no, 1 R is correct - Cur.

–noun 1. a mongrel dog, esp. a worthless or unfriendly one. 2. a mean, cowardly person.

Origin:
1175–1225; ME curre, appar. shortened from curdogge. See cur dog

If we're talking about the APBT specifically, a game dog is one that does not quit in a fight. A cur is one that would quit. Cur is also somewhat of a slang word, so it's also used to mean any undesirable dog - a mutt or a dog w/ bad temperament, etc.
