I know a certified master trainer who specializes in training pp dogs. His biggest issue is finding people responsible enough to own a pp trained dog. Even though the dog belongs to the owners it will always go back to him if one of the dogs he trained is 'used' inappropriately by the owner/handler. He does backround checks on the people first, and asks them to bring a (clean) criminal record along with their dog for the assessment. This is usually where he never sees them again. The ones that do show up with a clean record then get put through a series of tests that are to see what kind of a handler the person is going to be. The thing is the 'tests' he tells them are for him to see if the dog has the right mindset to work, but he's actually feeling out how responsible/respectful/smart the owner is and decides if the owner is competent enough to handle a pp dog. By that point he figures he trains about 1 in 30 requests that he gets. There's alot of weeding out to do, but he sleeps at night knowing he doesnt have dogs out there in the general public that can do serious damage because the owner is a moron. Personally if I was a pp trainer I wouldnt want it any other way than that....just another side of it I guess
