I wonder if this was about the kind of dog you have, or if it had more to do with being alone, in an isolated area by a riverbank.....
some women do not like talking to strangers, when they feel that the situation makes them vulnerable.... maybe she just wanted to get away from what to her was a potentially dangerous situation as soon as possible... could be she was just uncomfortable..
