I never said no body remembers when pit bull meant one breed. I was telling him that there are not two breeds one being the pit bull terrier and the other american pit bull terrier. The only breed name with pit bull is the American Pit Bull Terrier. Yeah, maybe pit bull should mean that, but it often doesnt. People on here all the time like to use APBT to differ from the other breeds often lumped into the Pit Bull category and youll often be corrected when just using the term "Pit Bull". Honestly I dont know what the point in directing your comments towards me were...All I did is point out that "Pit Bull Terrier" wasnt its own breed and "American Pit Bull Terrier" is the actual breed name.

Actually, many of us DO remember when "Pit Bull" meant just one breed and that is the American Pit Bull Terrier; and to me that's exactly what it is...When you say "Pit Bull" amongst dog people, that's what it should mean -- American Pit Bull Terrier. Period.

If you want to use "pit bull" in the context of a discussion about the media, go for it; but knowledgeable people KNOW what "Pit Bull" means. The American Pit Bull Terrier deserves it's nickname like any other breed.
